Senior Minister
Darrell Hairston
Pastor Darrell Hairston was born and raised in Lexington, North Carolina. There he was licensed to preach in January 1988 at Buncumbe Baptist Church.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Mid- Atlantic Christian University in Elizabeth City, North Carolina in 1991 and was ordained in 1995 at North Central Church of Christ in Louisville, Kentucky.
Under the oversight of the Eastern NC Christian Men’s Fellowship, he and his family moved to Elizabeth City to plant Rehoboth Victory Christian Church, which he served until 2012.
In May 2012, he received his Masters of Divinity degree from Virginia Union University's Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology.
He has been pastoring since 2012 at Washington Shores Church of Christ (WSCC) in Orlando.
During his ministry there, he was highly focused on connecting the church to the community and to its needs. Darrell headed a long list of community enrichments and outreaches.
He has remained connected to MACU; teaching and preaching with President Perkins and serving on the board.
Darrell married his wife and partner in ministry, Caprice, in 1992. Caprice is also a MACU graduate, class of ‘92. They have one child, daughter Destiny.
